Preferred Vendor Programs
Some insurers have “preferred vendor” networks. That can speed up response, but you should still understand what decisions you control as the homeowner.
What it usually means
- The insurer has a pre-approved contractor list
- Some pricing/paperwork may follow insurer guidelines
- Communication may involve you and the adjuster
Protect yourself
- Ask for a clear scope: what is being removed/dried/cleaned and why
- Keep photos and notes — don’t rely only on others
- Understand timelines, approvals, and any change orders
